You can definitely trade bears now at least and I'd say a 300+ bear even in one quality should go for a decent price.

Division of labor does make it easier for a village to progress over a hermit, though. Miner needs more STR? get everyone focused on getting one miner up to the ability to mine lvl 5 for best ores. Focus on getting forager's PER up, etc. Instead of wasting hunger bonuses on getting multiple stats up, you're only raising one or two at most.

But is there just zero value to like food and normal curios, or w/e? If I make a chest of carrot cakes, for example, is that useless? Fetches no meaningful price at all?

Food is also a big trade good, carrot cake and cheese mainly. Sold by the Large Chest full. Normally they wanted above x quality. Which takes a while to get to.

Milk was even sold by the barrel full, it was like gold.

Personally, I don't consider food trade worthy (could just be me). It's easy enough to mass, especially since there are timers attached to the hunger level. But meh, just my opinion.

And this is still the case?

Milk was even sold by the barrel full, it was like gold.

Really? Why? Hasn't milk always been trivial to scale up production of if you want more?

I wouldn't buy a carrot cake, like ever in this world, most curios can be easily made for no cost and would be useless for me as a mid-game player in an average village size.

I might have missed something, but carrot cake gives PER. Why would we need PER if not for foraging... Foraging is almost useless in this world? And doesn't it take as high stats as in previous world?

A curding tub takes 100L to fill doesn't it? Maybe a little less, I'm not sure. That's a lot of milk.

Admittedly I've only dabbled in cheese this world, but to me it seems as if the maws are the limiting factor. I have more milk than I know what to do with from simply letting my cows breed as they see fit.
