Getting spied on for the whole world doesn't sound like too great of an idea. Unless you mean implementing it every time world is soon to be reset.

What's the point of pvp if you can't cause any harm or there are no consequences at all? That's like playing a battle royal saying its pvp and you can still shoot at each other but no one dies. How lame is that?

Competition? It's more like playing a battle royale game and when you die there are no negative consequences outside of the battle you opted into. Which is exactly how 99% of battle royale games operate. Imagine if battle royale games instead deleted your account whenever you died. Such a game would bleed players like crazy.

There are already plenty of negative consequences to losing in combat. You get your shit looted and get a bunch of wounds that are a pain to heal. Why must a defeat lead to complete annihilation?

Some games are like that just because people like the risk, either switch the game or get used to it.

Dear god no, barring end of world stuff, it would fuckin obnoxious and a little immersion breaking.

People have Curtain walls for a reason
Ganking in pvp exists
It would suck to escape in pvp whilst redhanded or something, hide in a cave and then pop up on the stream

It'd be almost mandatory to have someone watching it in a competitive group.

I would often carry troll eyes so dakkan could watch me/record PVP clips on vanilla client for more cohesive/larpy videos instead of a million PVP overlays and alarms. It could be cool to have an easier opt-in option for something like that, but IMO it would get exploited pretty hard if it was just scrying random people publicly 24/7.

This would be too breaking for certain things.
Baddies would check popular or known places such as markets or any other hubs to jump for gank, also ambushes could be scouted by it, I'm not even speaking about village infrastructures people don't want to show. That's way too much of power for people, leave it for your leisure

As long as you don’t turn it on until ~6 months or so into the world, sounds great! Makes the game feel more alive when we can see ppl playing it.

I mean, if you remove all your clothes and hide in some empty cabin, will people have really any identifying info to get you with?

Why would anyone remove their closes knowing someone can watch them?
