A curding tub takes 100L to fill doesn't it? Maybe a little less, I'm not sure. That's a lot of milk.

+1 for the milk, I would even say its price will raise this world, as farming takes time and makes it less easy to handle for hermits due to game time - bot limitations compared to last world.

I might have missed something, but carrot cake gives PER. Why would we need PER if not for foraging... Foraging is almost useless in this world? And doesn't it take as high stats as in previous world?

Fair point, I guess. I mostly grind my stats for the floating white numbers, quite simply. Rings of Brodgar, then? Idk. I just could kind of see myself giving like a bar of iron or w/e for a chest of decent food.

Admittedly I've only dabbled in cheese this world, but to me it seems as if the maws are the limiting factor. I have more milk than I know what to do with from simply letting my cows breed as they see fit.

We had maws problems too, then we made a herd of reproducing sheeps like 10 females for 1 male in a separate pen, no more mauw problem, milk will limit us :D

But we have put a lot of efforts on cheese recently, most hermits won't be able to do that and will have to buy cheese at some point or forget mining.

Getting Milk is a pain at times, cheese is king (still). People want str to help them mine, milk steams cave bulbs, and so on. Helps make a lot of the dishes that give good stats.

Milk is worth a lot. I used to call it White Gold, to me a gial was to get a source of milk some how one way or another, Why I was willing to trade pearls for cows at the start of w7.

So are high quality trees, items you can make on your own (like milk lol), and so on.

Truly if you get a dairy running and get some good contacts, you can cash it in. Since you can sell to the small people that have issues getting milk.

Will it, though? Don't you then also get all the milk from those ewes, and thus still more milk than maws?

Depends on how fast its used. Make anything using milk and you run out quickly.

I'm not a 100% expert about breeding, but from what I understood sheeps tend to reproduce quicker than cows so more mauws, plus we also use the milk for butter, pancakes etc...

So yes at the moment I am pretty sure we produce more mauws than we can consume (but this was our intention actually to get more rings and maybe sell mauws at some point ?)
Edit: this is without taking into account our milking pen

I use 4 curding tubs that I manage to fill every few days, that is 400L of milk and only 12L of Rennet. 0.3L of vinegar and 1 maw gives 1L of Rennet and 3L is required to fill the tub completely. A tub filled entirely with milk will not use the entire 3L of Rennet. I do indeed have cows separate for milking from breeding and find that maws aren't the limiting factor for me but rather the milk considering I can't really take from the breeding cows and use that milk, else the babies will die.

We also use milking cows like you do :D

Here is our current setup, with that we have a more or less good balance between mauws and milk
