Maybe it is the fact most forageables are useless, maybe it is the ridiculous performace of the game, maybe it is the lack of trading and teleportation, maybe it is all of the above, the fact is that for whatever reason the game has lost what made it FUN to play.

This is a personal opinion of someone who loved legacy haven and was all the more willing to give the new one a try before judging it. That being said I will probrably not return to the game untill the next world reset.

I don't disagree with you at all and you're right about all of those things being factors that contribute towards the overall staleness of this world, I just don't agree that legacy is any better though. A fresh world in Haven 2 would probably be just as fun for many people as one in legacy would be.

I want to believe that, I really do, but won´t until I play the next world and see it for myself.

Same, while the devs improve the game, I will play other fun games instead of hafen which hasn't been fun and give it a try next world hoping it will be atleast as fun as legacy, not worth spending 10$ every month to do some virtual chores right now

Well in all honesty I prefer the old graphics style. I think it had more soul to it. The new is ok to but if I were to compare the two choices I would say old Haven is much better than new. Maybe it is because it had much more time to be refined and there were no time gates. But as I said by far I prefer the old graphics style more.

Well, I'm sort of half way between the two sides, I don't think legacy as a whole is particularly better or worse, I think aspects of it are. I prefer the new graphics and many other things about the new haven but I think overall playability does go hands down to legacy.

So much is missing from new haven, then there is the amount of time it takes to do anything and, as others have pointed out, trade is virtually non-existent, cutting off progression even further, socialising has also been affected as travelling to anywhere takes hrs, no-one wants roads to their place, lol, why would you unless you are a trading centre and no-one wants to use the roads anyway due to blocks and bandits, lol. - though I applaud those who are still trying to make trading work.

The game has indeed lost some of it's appeal both in the lack of a community feel and in the lack of willingness to do the 'chore' side of it due to time and slow progression and it feels much more Salemesque in regard to the boredom factor.

I'll be honest, I haven't renewed my subs and like molenga, I probably won't be doing so until a new world and then, depending on what, if anything, the devs have changed.

Though I have still shown support for it's future by buying the hat and snowballs, (and because I like them). :D

The "new" one is definitely not the "Old" one. As much as it tries, features such as the "Visitor buff" and the shitty 3D camera make it completely different. A 3D perspective makes the game play a whole new way, not to mention frustratingly stupid terraforming. Everything in the new one does feel like a chore and as much as I try to like it, I simply can't, which is unfortunate for me?

The reason I prefer the old one is for it's simplicity for complex ideas and mechanics. The bugs were stupid as fuck and there was much left to be done re vaults, islands and other such things but it had way more potential IMHO. You didn't need to spend a whole week terraforming a location for it to look decent and inhabitable, the art style was charming even though some of the sprites were completely shit and playing as a hermit was satisfying and rewarding if you managed to get a brickwall up and weren't raided by shitters. The combat was also leagues ahead of the "New" combat style. It's cool the devs experimented with a new combat system but that really was one of haven's greatest achievements, a unique combat experience like no other. The random card/deck stacking bullshit is boring as fuck and if you watch the combat videos, like the recent killing of a scrub through a brickwall gate, then you'll really see how shit it is.

Bots are still used, so that argument is moot and bugs are still running rampant, only they get fixed. Travelling is boring and the fast travel system is pretty shitty when people can abuse your way lay points in half the time that it takes for you to create them. The "new" one has as many new problems as the "Old" one had old problems.

If anyone actually plays the old one for the graphics it confuses me, but I guess that is personal preference.

I agree. I liked the new combat at the start but it honestly has huge glaring issues to it that i don't think can be reasonably fixed without yet another combat overhaul.

I honestly think 90% of the new changes have made the game worse than it was in legacy. Every new system that was put in place to prevent bots (experiences, fate) has made the game less fun. The removal of CRs and implementation of the new roads has made the game less fun. The removal of vidol teleportation killed trading (as well as the fate system because there's no useful forageables to trade for lower end players). The new crime debuff sucks and in combination with the lack of real ways to travel around the world (no river systems, wagons suck, horses aren't tameable) has made any kind of raiding or tracking a huge time commitment. Everyone spawning in the same grid is awful because it makes bashing noobs like shooting fish in a barrel, and the fact that friends can't spawn at your hearthfire makes it so that there's a huge barrier of entry to the game when it already has enough of a learning curve at the start. Flattening ground sucked in salem and it sucks here, i don't want to have to kill alt after alt to flatten an area just to start building. The new energy system in combination with the limits to eating is just another reason to use an alt for all menial labor.

I don't intend to renew my sub this world, the end game is really just chores right now.

I would play the one that first gets integrated pathfinding. Until then, when loftar realises that bears are not important in pathfinding, I gave up on both :D
W8 - Hermitage
W7 - Emerald City
W6 - Gomorrah
W5 - Pandemonium
W4 - Angkor
W3 - Angkor

Integrated pathfinding would indeed be nice, it is so frustating getting stopped by a toad or stump on your way.
