Team, I'm gonna be honest... I got almost no desire to play W16.2 :( Part of me is hoping that it will change before August, but the other part is wondering if this might be a good thing. Playing the last couple of worlds felt like such a hypocrisy, because I would never recommend this steaming pile of shit to a new player, but I still kept playing because there is no other game like that and because of the social aspect (I've made a bunch of good friends and acquaintances across the years).

At this point, with these kind of "test worlds", they could just try a real PvE one for a few months.

It would only take a couple of small fixes to make a good test run:
- Remove criminal skills obviously
- Increase the minimum distance between claims, to reduce the chances of claims being used to block expansion
- Increase by a lot the decay rate of claims, so that if someone stops playing, the abandoned claim decays in a matter of days not months.
- Make anything not claimed hand-bashable by with any strength. Avoids using houses to box people in.

Within a month or two, you'd see the result. Worst case scenario, it proves PvE world can't ever work because this community is to toxic to allow it. Best case, it shows griefing without crime is not really a big thing.

Realistically I think it'd show it can work with some improvements.
(The "anyone can be evicted anywhere" could work -outside of claims- to prevent alts being used to block you in as well.)

lol people have already been claiming around meteors/thingwalls for advantages in fights for years which is autistic bullshit that would not be tolerated in any good game

it'd be rly funny and on brand if the devs not only didn't fix it but reinforced it

Ohh ummm other person more. “And didn’t you think about playing Barbie Online?? Or some damn farming simulator?? Because of people like you it’s already so hard to kill anyone in this game. I think if you want a farming game, you should first go buy yourself some hands.”

They should announce that W16 is permanent.
I think a lot of players (me) would be much more likely to play on it if we knew a reset wasn't potentially right around the corner.

It is already as permanent as it can possibly be. If they were to make an announcement, you should believe it as much as one would believe in OCO coming out.

W16 may get nuked at some point (next couple years if I had to guess), but this should not stop anyone from playing there right now.
