I thought we were pretty explicit about that? Anyhoo:

The non-Steam server will continue to run, receive the same updates as the Steam version if at all possible, and -- without commenting on the specifics of when -- will also in due time be reset, likely aiming for slightly longer world durations.

The basic pitch is/was to setup a parallell system where we run shorter worlds, and on the other hand perhaps extend the duration of the worlds we run here, based precisely on the analysis that we both like and dislike world resets.

Mumbo-jambo free enough?

You were, yet it was on twitch.tv. There are people here who didn't see the stream, might not have the time to watch the stream or just missed that part of the stream where that statement was made.
Trusting any info on forums posted by others claiming it was said by you or loftar is doubtful considering state of the forums.

Did I imagine all the talk about a permanent world :?

Slightly longer than 1 yr is like 1.5 yr? idk the vagueness of "slightly longer" still says to me 'there's no point coming back to rebuild a new village, might as well wait for the restart'. Everyone is going to feel like its pointless to start fresh at any point beyond 1 yr with this vague answer Imo. Which Im guessing is the feeling u want to eliminate.

Edit: you should just say permanent even if u dont mean it and then if its totally dead at some point then do restart lol

The mindset of thinking its permanent vs not permanent is rly important, in terms of feeling like a waste of time or not

I am positive about the parallel server system. But why? I wonder why you use Steam that are not well prepared.
I don't mind if the current gameplay experience is maintained on the Steam server, but from what I've seen on the stream, it looks like it'll be very different from the current gameplay experience.
Is there no way to run it in parallel without using Steam?

Can i suggest discussion about worlds idea like Stronghold Kingdoms have?

Like from time to time starts different types of worlds (like less levels of mines, less supergrids*supergrids, faster game (fast curio, fast quests, more resources spots) or opposite, huge maps, longplay, long curio studying more demands, more time to decay more time to loose pclaim/vclaim) and all others live as long as people play

maybe some realms run (like stronghold do), every 1-2 months weakest realm drop the game, TWs might be captured again and so on, until 1 realm rule over the world and win (this one actually interesting to discuss about - how and how thats might be)

and if map was generated well, and people like it - will run with no wipes, makes possible to made something big like markets/cities or so, and if not - and no people around - wipe and/or close it.

because imho game in this condition - not for steam at all (but i hope you will succeed and get some cash - enough to continue to make it more)

Give us creative mode in the current world, so we can show an absolute badass village for your steam release.

Wait so non-steam worlds will continue to be run, updated, and reset concurrently?

When you alluded to w15 “not lasting forever” on stream the implication seemed to me that it would end (or only end) should the Steam Experiment Succeed - that is, steam “SX” worlds would possibly be the only new worlds going forwards.

Will there certainly be a w16, w17, etc?
