We meant to deliver a patch tonight, but a strange bug vexes us. We'll aim to push it tomorrow night instead.

If Zerglings were more important, I don't think it would take long for custom clients to develop an interface to control multiple characters. As I understood, it, they were already half there earlier in this world before we changed the combat deltas to make fresh spawns less useful in a fight.

As for the other questions, I certainly don't have any short, holistic answer to them.

You always seem to come back to the possibility to bot something in this argument. As I said there are plenty of activities in game already people are botting the living hell out of.

Maybe it is time to think about a more proactive stance against botting even if it is not trivial to police those things. People will always find ways to bot, but they mght do so a lot less if they have to be afraid of getting reported and banned.

I know you lack the manpower and will to play police in the game, but developing around botting is just not happening in a meaningful way. Just look at farming. You implemented most stuff that was botted before as a game mechanic now and people wrote new bots that automate the other parts of farming. Seems to me this is a lot more time consuming for you guys actually. Always hunting for the latest botting activity and come up with entirely new mechanics to prevent it. Sysiphus would be proud.

Maybe this isn't even solvable in a good way with just two people developing the game and we have to accept that it is what it is. Then we at least need better endgame though. Right now pushing numbers is all it is and that is all botted. I hope you don't just cling to uncapped stats because it represents late game to you.

I am saying there might not be such a solution here. Thus the "People will always bot". No matter how good the game mechanics are. It seems to be a common problem in all online games. I mean maybe I am wrong and all online games are just bad and haven't found the proper solution to it yet. Then I would be more than happy to see Loftar and Jorb be the first to solve this.

The temptation to bot is much harder to control than the outcome of doing so. If there were some automated method of detecting the botters wouldn't it be logical to just remove them? It just comes down to detrimenting their effort for cheating in some way, and even if they never give up they may never get a desired value for their time invested.
