At least when compared to being at the very edge of the view distance, where client physically stops displaying anything. Whether intentional or not, lot of the complaints seem to imply the range extends all the way there.

Meanwhile counter-complaints are the exact opposite, saying Raw Hide! has too short of a range and anyone, who knows what they're doing, can just gallop away when they see anyone enter their "view distance box."

I doubt my experience is useful, but back in w12 some folks on a knarr used raw hide on me while they were on the edge of my view distance. The moment we came into view of each other. I was foraging along the shore, and the moment the Unknown Player ping happened, it was used. I assume it was automatic from a custom client. Got robbed and they killed my horse </3
The existence of a girlfriend implies the existence of a girlfoe & that is the service I'll be offering.

I already thoroughly tested it and max range is 35 tiles out of your hearthling's 45 tile view distance. So it can never hit you outside your view distance (obviously) but a fast attacker can certainly hit you before you even realize what's happening.

I don't like its current interaction and how it imprisons you on your horse and is basically the only active movespeed effect in the game. I also think it should force your horse to flee instead of rooting you in place.

Yeah it always should have been this instead of a stupid "haha gotcha :^)" button for daring to ever use a horse outside your walls

So when a player puts me in combat, there is no place to escape to anymore?
Players with PvP experience can simply murder everyone who dares to leave their pali. The next week is going to be interesting.

Has the player base even broken 1000 players this world? These goofy half worlds with pvp changes that the majority of people don't give a fuck about at best or will die and quit over at worst are unironically killing the game and quickly. World 16 broke 2k players online at one point iirc. Last world peaked in the mid thousands, this world is peaking at around 900ish. There's a clear pattern here ever since you guys started fucking around with these half assed worlds

I prolly agree with most of ur criticism but it feels very reactionary for half of it to be "pvp focused world bad" or similar

the entire changelist to revive PVP is: safepalis are a bit harder to make, and travel is easier (which has a bunch of other benefits too. People are actually trading woaw)

it is very funny to scare away the mega skittish carebears by saying it will be a single continent world then making it a 3 continent world, tho. Kinda like how last world they scared them away by saying it would be a no safepali world, then proceeding to make it the most singlepali world there has ever been

I don't think the the pvp changes alone are the problem. The problem is that the average player (because lets be real, there's maybe 60 people total this world out of probably well over 1500 daily active users that will ever aggro someone) opened these patch notes and saw "it will be easier for you to get caught and beat up now" and no changes for them. Even the rage change is fucking hilarious really. I know someone who spent the first 8 hours of the world just KOing every noob they saw then they drowned the character and started playing normally because it was 10k lp and who cares
