Well, the nidbane change is understandable for several players or groups... but completely bad for other players. Most hermits, newbies and peaceful groups keep in touch to trade, share hints and help each other from time to time. Now most of these people would think they don't need rage, because they're not planning to hurt anyone, it's their choice. But once they get killed by PKers, nobody can send a nidbane after the criminals, even the most powerful allies. This encourages additional LP grind, people will sit for another hours to get more LP for that one mighty skill.
But the funny thing is, when someone decides to form a posse and hunt down these criminals. They'll track them down and kill if they're lucky. Now these dead criminals can easily gather scents and send nidbanes after those who didn't want other players to get slaughtered. So in final result, it's not even worth hunting down the real bad guys, because there's a chance they'll send tons of nidbanes at you, for bringing the justice.
And to be quite honest, I doubt real griefers are going to be discouraged by this change. If someone bothers to waste his time making alts merely for the purpose of annoying his enemies, he'll do it anyway, because it's still safer and more efficient than engaging them in real combat.
