This.

l would make salt a spice that increases the highest FEP and reduces other FEPs, making food cleaner. And increase salt yield or make salt basins more common.

Devs you should really reconsider the salt buff or apply one of the suggestions from this thread (idk about the use automatically on salt basin click being enough tbh, I like it, but, ppl would just guard all the nodes on reset and the miner/titan would go from one to the next snorting them up lel).
If the overall feel of the new hunger system results in lower average hunger and stats (and it seems to me that it will), the buffed salt might be just good enough to give a huge advantage comparatively speaking.

On the note of "low-stat world", it might also become an issue for miners that need to grind A TON of str to be able to mine properly on lower levels so a rebalance of str required might be in order but ig you will see how the stats go up as the world goes on and you can rebalance it before ppl get to the figurative "wall".

Animal feed reduction doesn't go far enough. You still need enormous herds to increase stats so you'll still spend half your playtime filling troughs. Individual animals eating less just means you'll have a couple more animals in the herd.
IMO the main issue is that the RNG spread on stat increases is too big for how many stats there are. I think stat rolls should be a 50/50 thing, ie you either get +15 or +30 on any one roll, and nothing in between.
Also pregnant animals eating 4x more is way too much, make it like 1/4 more instead.

I can't speak on the feed volumes, but I certainly agree that the current mathematical probability to increase stats is simply too low. However that gets adjusted I don't mind, but it needs a healthy bump. If you do adjust it just don't remove the chance to get a dunce, but up the average chance to make better overall progress by quite a bit. Please.

(remove breeding quality to instantly 1/10th herd sizes)
Chance of getting a perfect offspring with BQ == 1/400
Chance of getting a perfect offspring without BQ == 1/20
Meanwhile BQ does not do anything interesting or fun, it's just there to make raising quality harder and a bit more confusing
