I do wonder what a slower world would play like.

Been there, done that, got the fucking t-shirt.

Quite a lot of experienced advice-givers here already, I'll be the guy that points a finger and says "This. Do not-this."

I don't know for sure what they were trying to achieve. I have no idea what were the problems that they were trying to address and if they were, in fact, addressed, not addressed or is it still too early to tell. I can only assume that the gilding change has something to do with people being able to craft fucktons of items overcoming the low low success chance. Well, if it's indeed the case then hooray, it will now take two fucktons of items. And oh by the way fuck those who can't yet produce a single fuckton, yeah, fuck those poor bastards sideways. So, yeah, you see why I'm not going to coin my invaluable input into C&I: my lack of in-depth developing knowledge, shreds of information provided by jorb and my factual experience lead me to believe the implemented change was aimed at endgame situation disregarding the progression and starting crafts, hence, incredibly stupid. I do not consider devs to be stupid, they'll get it right, and they do not need my input on how to do it.

Say whatever about gildings, but I got 2/3 on my hussars first try and they're not armor anymore so I don't need to go hunting swans as often when they break and that's fine with me

Armor breaking nowadays just causes its armor value to be invalidated; the equipment remains useful for its gildings. I've been walking around with a double-gilded broken Bat Wing for ages now.

Without any deep thought, i'd play the fuck out of a 0.75x speed world simply on principle that 1.5x speed feels so treadmilly and lame that a slower world must feel better.

That's a good point. I never checked, did broken hussars still give agi, and does a broken bat wing still make bats ignore you?

Yeah, broken armour just stops being Armour, all other benefits remain.

I think it's best if they fully abandon the game and don't do any more updates

When private servers and opensource backend code

What shall the jorbulator do in the subsequent experimental world?

Presumably: continue the grand, spiraling experiment. Life is not a game, it is a song, which twists and cracks and melds, reforming as we skate along it, motes of dust undulating by the sonic pulses.

Until next time, my friends.
