I really don't think the default client would give you the error you posted. Please check again.

Thanks a lot for that, by the way. I'm not sure I would have gotten the client to work on MacOS without your help.

Well, the reason is that some things tend to look weird in isometric views where the X and Y axes aren't symmetrical. I do realize that the angle-lock is less than optimal, but not having it is also less than optimal.

do you realize that locking camera on semi-positions w/o ability to lock the mini-map to camera is one of the weirdest solutions in game-dev since Resident Evil 1 controls system?
Really, HnH on vanilla is the only game I've played where minimap provides more confusion than helpful info - you just can't use it for movement and orientation, because your marker NEVER move to the side you moved your character

"lock minimap to camera" is one of the default features in any game, where you can rotate camera locked on char

That sounds to me exactly like what the camera currently does, as it rotates around with the character locked in the center of the screen. Not sure where the minimap comes in.

I believe he's suggesting that the minimap should change orientation with the camera.
Edit: Alternatively, changing the player's map marker from the current X to something like the arrow used in custom clients (showing the character's orientation) would be a solution.

yor minimap is tilted on 45 degree
just imagine your compass shows the red point not on north but somewhere near your right shoulder... just why?

That's a weird way to express that idea, but anyway: Compared to which camera angle? I'd consider it a feature that the minimap has a fixed coordinate system rather than rotating with the camera, if that's what you mean.

okay
when I set my char to go up on screen it goes NOT up on minimap
And I feel my self as an idiot who tries to get where am I going instead of just turning the map Im looking at... but... I can't... turn... the map.

Well indeed, but would you really want your minimap rotating with the camera, so that you'd have to reorient yourself on it constantly as you rotate the main view around, in order to find the things that you know where they are?

I mean, Breath of the Wild's minimap also worked like that by default, but it was literally the first thing I turned off, since it obviously sucked. I guess you could argue that it should be an option, but I hadn't even considered that anyone would be weird enough to turn that on.
