[*] Aiming with ranged weapons can no longer be canceled, meaning you have to stand still for some time if deciding to aim with a ranged weapon, hopefully enforcing more intentionality in training your aim on targets.

why?? if you locked into place while aiming can a least have some buff to range or something, what is the reason of this nerf?

I don't see the purpose of this change. ranged weapons were already shit. They needed to be buffed, not nerfed. You've added no tradeoff for needing to stand still (which is retarded and makes it even less useful in PvP), it's just a straight up nerf. You may as well remove bows, like what the fuck is even their purpose?
You've just made it so that archers (there were none anyway because it was already bad) are basically not an option in PvP period now.

jorb wrote:[*] SUGGESTION: It has been suggested that it would be good if the block weight were reduced when moving (as it was in Legacy). If there is some consensus that this would be a good change, it is one we are willing to entertain. Feel free to opine.[/list]

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say this sounds interesting and should be tried out. There's too much running around in combat, there absolutely should be downsides to it. What you've suggested is something that I basically suggested in one of my C&I posts. I think it warrants trying, but naturally you'll listen to the same people who have kept combat in the same sorry stagnant state for years as per usual before actually giving it a try.

It will be W9 horse combat all over again. Smaller groups will be the losers with this change since the pursuer will ALWAYS have the advantage, in legacy it was mostly about the VICTIM having a advantage to bring the PURSUER down in a outnumbered situation, in this combat it would be all the way around since you always hit with "100% attack" atleast from the information of what they have noted down in this thread

Using bows was already an act of masochism in both PvE and PvP, yes sometime you can get some lucky shot and free damage. But fucking hell, bows DON'T EVEN DO HHP DAMAGE lmao. Hunting with them was already stupid and very niche idea. Come on guys, if you nerf something, balance it out with giving some sort of buff to other parameters

Some extra range, allow to move at a crawl speed while aiming, speed up the bow charge... Bows are already almost never used in PvP, are they meant only for PvE?

No, Jorb doesn't know what he's doing, and he wouldnt think of this idea on his own. This idea was asked by the people who have been pvping for years. The same people who got storm gimped. Those people want pvp to be as high skilled as possible, so they can sweat the living shit out of it. Noobs be damned.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

you can't even properly use it in PvE cuz when you shoot an animal it'll quickly approach in melee where you can't even do dmg with a bow(0 dmg if shooting from 1-2 tiles away), and can't outrun majority of animals in this game

We're back to botting salt I see, it was a good run while it lasted.

No. Movement is literally 90% of combat. Don't break it.
