Now that I can build one village and extend it underground, foraged curios really aren't impressive (since the best ones aren't foraged anymore with one exception), and you don't need explicitly need to hunt for meat, is there actually any reason for me to go outside my walls?

Actually this world I can just as easily "sit inside my walls" and grind stats as I did last world.

Two people with lives outside of game. Many players and false tags tossed in to punish enemies, people all over he world on at different times, review of each 30 log.... you get the idea. Its not really an option.

Jorb , considering this whole new bi-weekly update plan, could we get more interaction with you guys in the sense of just discussing some of the ideas you have for future content? Just to not make the community feel devless every other week :D

That was an old post, though. Currently we've simply been pushing whatever stuff we manage to get to a playable state that week.

That said; I/we should stream more.
