Making an objective appeal hardly needs to be "kissing one's ring", and also claiming that he had "no planning" of it is a tenuous proposition.

to be honest, this is genuinely the objective statement about dakkan: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=75506&start=300#p932070

It is, but being bound to it would effectively mean that we can do nothing ever, which is not a good thing.

i guess so

For what it's worth, I agree. I'm not sure the opposite situation would be better, however.

Maybe uping it to 125 while destroying the exploited wells and let the balance regain, 250 just seems bonkers to do.

In the end it's the same spiraling, and the industry you have now is a starting point, which is different for everyone. Nothing is really lost.
The real issue lies with quality effects being non-linear. You suddenly get higher baseline quality weapons/armor/food, and increasing it gives diminishing returns.

I have a wellspring that was Q20 previously and it is Q80 now. :?:

water is capped by stats, except in water wells

I forgot about that. I'm still somewhat new.
How common is it for players to have 250+ survival? I was happy about finding Q40 water recently but now it seems pointless to do anything that requires water until your survival is at 250.

Honestly, this is the best thing that the devs could do after finding such a game breaking bug, fixing it, banning the abusers, and ensuring that the world isn't completely unbalanced.

The only people that truly lose are the people that created legit wells and used dig deeper on them.

The final thing that should be done is the legit users of dig deeper should have their wells either manually boosted by the devs or the used exp given back. The wells can then be destroyed, rebuilt, and dug by their owners.

Salt water being boosted should be taken as an apology from the devs for being unaware of the issue and it being something that some of the community wanted a full world reset for... or something like that...

Thank you for fixing water.
Best you could do without resetting.

You gotta build the well. When you take water out of well, it does not get capped by your survival.

Also if you are Dakkans alt, you have no power over me, i got my plane trees secured.

I have directly or indirectly reported a decent number of bugs to you guys, many of which took a significant amount of time/effort (do you know how long it takes to gather 60,000 you know whats?). I've never done anything that impacts the world in a major way, or tried to.

It's your game and I'm not in a position to tell you how to run it, but major punishments being arbitrary feels like it discourages integrity. What I'm learning from this is not that I should report bugs, but that I should keep my head as low to the ground as possible instead of being my typical loud self. All it seems to do is put me on your radar, which if things are arbitrary, is inherently bad. It seems very obvious that others have done significantly worse and gotten off scott free.
