So no thoughts? OK... we will try... May I just ask, why you wasn't against 20 pages of discussing Mods personalities? Do you think it was "on topic"?

But Azam's right. Let's get back to the topic.

My personal detailed feedback:

jorb wrote:Hearth Magic
-----------------------
  • Gilding Song: Adds a gilding slot to an otherwise finished Artifact.
  • Horse Whisper: Convert Horse energy to pony power.
  • Contemplation & Meditation: Halve the remaining study time on a curiosity.
  • Fishers Request for a Catch: Buff fishing success rate and speed.

1. Gilding Song - interesting, trying to make any cloth suitable for any gilding. Allow devs not to spend their precious time on balancing gilding and making good cloth-sets. "Just use magic!". Also, huge EP drain.
2. Horse Power - barely useful: if you need rapid PP-boost, you're probably running from something, or chasing something on 3-4th speed, and spending 3-5 seconds on casting will more likely ruin your plan... May be wrong...
3. Contemplation & Meditation - good one, but won't become ppl's choice due to high cost and only halving (maybe instant finishing will fit).
4. Fishers Request for a Catch - no one fishing by hands. Another buff for botting. Cool.

General. EP gain system is broken (I've found ~30 local res in new map-sections and won't get any EP-event, and finished more than 50 quests for ganin'g 250 EP for all time). Reported so many times. No reaction. Instead, we have another bunch of tasks, requiring EP as payment.
jorb wrote:Key Fixes
-----------------------
  • Pushed a fairly critical and invasive change to the plot handling system, in expectation of future needs. Keep an eye out for unusal claim behaviors. Feel free to test.
  • Expanded the map a fair bit in all directions.
  • Ice Spires and salt pools should now be initialized as more or less depleted.
  • Removed level caps.
  • Palisades can never be hand bashed after they have soaked entirely the first time.

1. Some server-unknown stuff. Nothing to comment.
2. Good change for new world. Doesn't really matter in current state.
3. Very questionable. Personally, it's crappy decision. Removing one of the main world's definition w/o any explanations - definetily looks wierd.
4. Questionable too. I personally like the idea of no palibashers due to my laziness, but I do think it's not right decision - it make brickwalls useless. But since it was stated from world start - I like they didn't changed another world's rule.
jorb wrote:Small Fixes
-----------------------
  • Reduced salt hunger reduction from base 50% to 20%.
  • Increase Mirkwood Offering costs to 100XP and 2hr study time.
  • Increased aiming speeds for ranged weapons by 25% generally.

1. Seems weird. If devs remove stat caps and want to see ppl with 9999 str, they should increase salt's hunger reduction.
2. Another weird move. Why increase EP cost - it was high enough already (and with all this magic-stuff, the cost was raised by itself hugely). Wanna nerf? Just decrease the LP gain.
3. Didn't noticed any changing in bow-hunting. U still can't aim fast enough into the wandering creature before he change his position. (Literally, didn't noticed this change - 25% seems to be easily noticeble, but it doesn't - maybe someone forget to trully implement it on game-server?)

Absolutely inner dev-team stuff, shouldn't be commented by community at all.

  • We were actually doing something else entirely, which we'll hopefully have ready next week, but decided to try to throw some crazies at the wall tonight to see if anything sticks.

As always, they doing something unknown and telling us that they still doing it. Mmmm, ok.

We will try...

That could be count as staying on topic? ;)

P.S. And Im sure mods (if there any active left) will clear the topic off our "korean mem" discussion (still I want to apologise to them for this off-topic part)

Stay classy jorb, stay classy.

Been following for a few years but I've never understood why Jorb and Loftar haven't made combat more action based. I like how Archery is aiming wise. Why not do the same with melee? Weapon ranges for melee weapons. Strong attacks, weak attacks and real time blocking. (/w lag) Instead of coming up with a weird Yu-Gi-Oh rip off with a splash of WoW. IDK I've just seen combat as the biggest struggle and I'd like it to end so we can actually have more content that doesn't run out in a fucking month of gameplay. (Then you quality and stat grind until your bored)

You and more than a few others. I don't blame anyone. I don't envy being in the position of the artist listening to the critics on what is being done wrong.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

This is RPG, not FPS or hack and slash. Skills determine who will win fight and this is how RPG game should look.
