Unironically though can we get stone, wood, planks, etc etc stockpiles to be content-sensitive and show material textures if they're 100% one type? Current default textures can be used if there's a mix. It would be nice for organization, and I know this can be done because of how you do ore stockpiles. Don't lie to me, Jorb

You're right, I'm sorry... sniff

THREAD, PLEASE BE AWARE:
I would like to apologize to Butters. What I should have said was, people quitting after lategame industry isn't going to be solved by just giving up instead of making some kind of attempt to give an onramp onto PVP, which we agree is an important part of the game, because Butters can't conceive of a way to do it. Butters is an earnest thinker, and if he can't figure it out... no one can.

Please let's all be nice to Butters! Please? I know it's hard, but if you could muster a chuckle for his Indian scammer joke from 2015, I know it would mean a lot to him. He may come to surprise you... he's been working on his "I identify as an apache attack helicopter" delivery, and he has a Here Come Dat Boi you laugh you lose compilation pulled up on his ifunny tab just for you <3

Yikes, top 10 difficult reads.

Imagine being so mad you start writing like that

The way you quickly tried to change the subject after cringeposting. Piquant.

You fellers are so corny with it

I suspect that the game is programmed this way: it doesn't always know exactly what's in the stockpile, only the quantity and type. And when the player tries to take an item, they query a list of items, each one a single time. That's why, for example, you can't take items from the middle of the stockpile. The logic probably needs to be rewritten to achieve you suggestion. But, of course, these are just my guesses, yeah.

There are no design issues as i see — for example, iron nuggets use a wrought iron texture, but following simple logic, it could be any material:

No idea if it would make implementing variable material stockpiles any easier, but I'd be fine if the materials only updated when the stockpile window is closed (and no other character had the stockpile open) so that a pile of stones doesn't need to update its textures 60+ times when someone scrolls stones into it.

They can't release 16.2 until they've cooked up their underdeveloped eviction system until its just ready enough to be abused by griefers and exploit-hunters.

Don't forget the bot leaderboards too. Very important.

Did any ideas from 16.1 prelude thread get introduced into the game?

I wonder what, if any, ideas from this thread will be considered... besides ball slapping emote, of course.
I know jorb feels me on that one.

it's too good an idea to just be an emote. make the hearth magic that evicts rageless characters a ball slapping magic.
