Basically anything under a bear can easily be killed in like 30 seconds or less by kiting with a shit Q bow I have no idea what this guy is complaining about, except the spear thing. There definitely could be a shitty early game wood caveman javelin.

but your average wild eurasian swine? Really?

I assure you, even a double 12-gauge tap may not be enough to stop an angry cornered boar full of adrenaline. This thing will absorb several buckshots and ram towards you like nothing. Cartilage layer is no joke, if you ever go for it, take slugs.

Game-wise, boars definitely should have rage mode similar to bears'

There's a big can of worms if we really want to go more realistic.

Szat wrote:How is it realistic for a boar to absorb dozens of arrows without slowing down or weakening

This is realistic, how slow they are in game is not... not sure you want more realistic boars. They're very aggressive and can charge you at 30mph. Look up some hog hunting videos, they are seriously tough, and can get much bigger than represented in game.

'Hogzilla' was over 800lbs.

Those wings on the boar spear are for keeping the hog away from you, so it doesn't run up the shaft and gore you anyway.

FWIW modern arrows can pass right through game animals like deer and then they run off and die far away if you don't hit the heart or lungs. So I imagine the primitive bow and arrows would have trouble taking down a hog, even with good shot placement.

The bows we have right now are more for small game like squirrels, rabbits, and birds.

I'd like to make it clear I'm not arguing for realism, but consistency - like fine, nerf stupid cheese that flouts the developer's intent, but do consider why people are cheesing and whether mechanics suck, or whether the amount of grind you have apportioned for a specific part of the game is reasonable

why are you talking about realism kinda retarded

bears are trash mobs in an MMO that give like 12 pieces of meat and you're supposed to farm hundreds of them but doing that is retarded as fuck when it takes 10 minutes per bear + a small wound + breaking 10% of your armor when you could just catch an inventory of fish on an alt while half afk for more overall feps in the same time

by the time qualities/stats are high enough for it to be trivial there will be no point doing it because the retarded ass absurdly overpowered pickling that everybody hates will have replaced it

killing animals is basically just larp content now lol

new animal AI is complete aids to engage with if youre not using a bow

realism is a complete nonstarter argument that i really dont give a fuck about, we're playing a video game. if you want realism go hunt irl

Find a small ledge and let a boar or something chase you, hop over the ledge and even though pathing around the ledge should be a simple matter the animal simply runs the opposite direction instead. To me it just seems like the fleeing mechanic is poorly implemented.

The way these guys are showing their ass by overtly complaining about having to play the game is killing me
