If you actually plan on making lockpicking boats a thing, you better make it take hours, it'd be retarded to go on land to fight just for the other side to leave a stealth alt to steal their boat, making it even easier for one side to run away/relentlessly chase the other

This sounds like an excellent idea.

Regardless of the game implications of leaving your boat on a shore, undocked, and unattended...it should not take hours even with the best lock. Just because safe palisades give a false sense of security for a day, doesn't mean the entire game needs to hold your hand. Keep someone at the ship, or risk losing it if its not docked. How's that hard?

Make lockpicking require some expensive skill and make it non cancelable act, making the thief vulnerable.

How about finally making a port that acts like a charterstone, and a smaller version which acts as a home dock/portico/hearth fire

Big port: expensive, but boats can fast travel to any such dock. Same rule as for charter stone apply

Small port: Works as the current port, but less expensive in terms of materials
Notable characters: Cpt. Danko, Kng. Danko

LS of MorningWood (as of W7)
North Star market owner (W11)
King of North Star Kingdom & Market (W12)
LS of MorningWood (W13), quit early cause reasons
Open village of North Star (W14)

Nice update, I really agree with this part of it.

As much as I feel that Teleportation, as a concept, is cancer and needs to be utterly removed. (Outside of being able to hearth to your hearthfire within a 5 minigrid radius) If we're going to have it, we might as well do this.

Now excuse me, I gotta go vomit in disgust at hearing myself say such a thing.

Or, here's a wacky idea: wait to implement lockpick-able ships until AFTER modular building!

Docks could start cheap as a shitty little "jetty" and slowly expanded to be able to accommodate ships and even a fleet. Earlier docks could serve as an outdoor lock for small boats like dugouts and rowboats. The dock would grow from a boat launch to a port alongside the growth of the village, rather than being one clean, but expensive, upgrade.

This is something proiblem.

Can we remove a home dock for a Snekkja or knarr? Like if I am killed by loftar, he took my key and drive my Snekkja away. Before I can bashed my dock to diabled the Snekkja back to my home dock, but now I have to wait for a day and have to risk to lost my seige equipmet? Loftar can easily come to the home dock and took my seige equipment everyday.
