ill be honest ive been getting by pretty fine this world with mostly my own research into recipes, and im definitely not autisming it
Yeah. People who say 'food is broken!' usually look at the game only through a 'competitive' lens, when, in fact, the game is not fundamentally competitive. It has fundamental PvP elements, but that isn't the same as being fundamentally zero-sum competitive, like a modern shooter (Is CS:GO considered modern?

). Lots of casuals enjoy playing here; also, sub-optimal food recipes do not qualify someone as 'casual'. It stands to reason, then, that finding the optimal recipe for a given food item may be wholly unnecessary, and a burden that players opt into by their own choice.
I still roll my eyes every time someone says a new addition would be 'mandatory' because it's 'good' in some way. 'Good' self-evidently does
not mean 'mandatory', see: the drinks system (which is widely sub-optimally engaged with, and often outright ignored, despite the buffs being useful on paper).
I agree that
some changes may be in order, though.

'After midsommar' seems most likely. I seem to recall that W16 was meant to last 1 year, where W16.1 was meant to last ~6 months. We're barely 3 months into the world. If they extend the original date by a couple of months, we could even get the new world during the first week of school, which would be
