Okay now I'm back to being in favor of steam only clients.

I would like to draw parallels to another similar game that had a steam release a couple of years ago: Dwarf Fortress.

You see just like H&H, DF was a decade old game with a lot of chory gameplay and half baked mechanics, the two guys developing had the idea to release it formally on steam with a fresh coat of paint.

It made bank, a lot of new people bought the game after hearing so much about it for years, but they quickly realized it was a mess, full of bare bones mechanics that didn't quite work well together, in a month the game was back to its pre-steam release numbers, never to be popular again because of better products that derivate from it, made by people that had it as their primary career path.

Make all that what you will.

+1 pvp sucks, you are right.

I want a world without pvp where we can create alts, and block peoples gates with their bodies, so nobody can leave their bases. We should also be able to wall peoples bases in so they are forced to uninstall the game, and hopefully never come back. Believe it or not, we can't even stand in the way of peoples walls while they are building them to prevent them from ever getting them up, because the alt might be attacked! Can you believe that?!

What a world we live in, we can't even do simple things, like destroy someone's house before it's fully built, without the threat of death! Permanently blocking people from building their bases because we created a beacon, and spawned in an alt should be a human right! Without stupid pvp, this would all be possible, and the game would be so much better!

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
