Yeah, it won't be easy. As DDD is pointing out it might also just shift things to some strange alt carnival, but perhaps that is to some extent fine. Idk. If it is the case that any possibility of punishing crime leads to alting being a problem then that seems like a core problem with the game mechanics as such, tbt.

There are a bunch of things that are very much not-obvious.

So you're saying we can spook the heck out of criminals now when they log in?

I like this.

I do have to ask; why are more curiosities better than more food?

LadyGoo wrote:would you wait on implementing anything about the sieges?

Well, for one thing we still need to flesh out siege mechanics that we're happy with, quite simply. :)
We're discussing it continuously. This update was one of the results of that discussion.

Just give them some amount of base stats in combination with your current formula? It could take the player's stats +10 and then calculate the formula or something like that.

Well you know why alts are fine? Because permadeath in an uncapped stat grind over the course of months or even years is too harsh ;) Listen to Potjeh!

Good point. They better need to finish what they start and then start making content "for fun". All new curio system + to this list.

But this is 'fun' content! If I were around atm I'd be on my char out searching for scents as we speak. :D

I suspect those who don't find it fun are mainly the ones who are hiding behind their walls with a stack of scents to their name. :P

I'm not disagreeing that there are other things that need to be worked on which may be slightly more important overall, but as the devs have clearly stated for the last few wks that they are working on them, I would rather they take their time and get it right than do it in haste to pls everyone and get it wrong. Meanwhile we now have something 'fun' to play around with and hopefully get some revenge with. :)

Visitor buff and this update won't change much in terms of in-game social interactions and politics, but being able to raid and possibility of being raided - yes.

Because I'd like to get some feedback on how it plays out first? Because there are a lot of unknowns? Because spamming a bunch of changes to the PvP mechanics can cause a strange flux which is hard to meaningfully evaluate? Because we have to decide on what to actually do about siege?

Furthermore, I'm not excluding that we'll work on siege. Again, there are some preparatory steps that we should probably take anyway, so that could be a thing.

One vote for work on siege mechanics registered, I guess.
