One thing to notice is that the ram can be dried for 24 hours out of range of any of the defendants contraptions, and only moved in the range for the few critical hours. (Of course, decided by the attacker, for example, to occur in middle of night or christmas eve, could be fixed by defendant chosen vulnerability windows btw devs)
Some ideas that I came up with and why they don't work:
Destroy ram with a character
Doesn't work, because attacker has stronger/more fighters than you.
Build archery towers to destroy the ram
1 hour to dry, catapults are both immediate and have farther range, so attacker can easily destroy them before they fire even once.
Also when destroyed they prevent building of new towers.
Also they deal so little dmg that they are useless anyway.
Use catapults
Only option that may in theory work, but in practice it doesn't.
First of all, the attacker can prepare for the attack by collecing lots of brimstones and ensuring that all geysirs near your place are completely drained.
Few people have large stocks of brimstones to be used on demand, as they decay so fast.
The time window for defense is small for somebody who sleeps the nights and works the days. There is no time to collect more than a few brimstones at most.
Attacker can decide that he wants to attack, build his own catapults that he uses to destroy defendants catapults before defendant has the chance to even load his own. etc.
Even if defendant successfully built defensive catapults and destroyed rams it would still be battle of who collects most brimstone, as attacker could just build more rams until brimstone collecting capacity of the defendant is exhausted.

And on top of all this, most people build houses etc. right next to their walls, so there may not even be space to build defensive catapult near the pali!

What other options there are? None, I think. Stop saying that siege defense is possible if you cannot even tell how it happens.

if you have no friends that came to defend you, you can be raided easy and i think its okey (find friends)

After few months most factions quit and there will be just 1 strong autis faction remaining. After that it doesn't matter how many friends you have because you need the strongest faction as your friends. Then there are timezone etc. issues. No one bothers to defend your place if its midnight for them.

People have paid actual, real-life money for those tokens, though. While they'll have a hard time making a legal case against a change in token rules (especially if announced beforehand) it would definitely reduce user trust, as the thing they bought (a permanent RMT token) is not the same as what it would become (an expensive way to renew your subscription).

It also leaves the problem of hats being permanent tradeable items with real-money value, and banning trade of that would be very controversial.

Simple solution is just to make existing tokens tradeable but not any new ones.

Why exactly are people talking about teleporting to a CS and sieging there? seems backward and resource intensive.

I think more it's the ability to travel from a thingwall to any CS. People say it's actually the same but the point of thingwalls was to keep people outside longer, travelling between them. That hasn't seemed to matter much though anyway.

Also why are the people coming to defend a town in this scenario outlawed lol. Sounds like they've been doing some attacking themselves so who cares if they have to suffer the same consequences. Don't bite off more than you can chew maybe.

I'm not saying that it would be overnight thing. Did you read my posts? I said that something worth trading could be added if trade ceased. Removing tokens is anyway the most important and first step.

Catapults can be fired immediately on being built but will do no damage to buildings unless given at least 2 hours to charge. You are retarded and everything you say is wrong.

Surely removing tokens will revitalize trading and I won't ask for 500 morels for anvils I shit out in bulk (ps I wont deliver)


you misread, im not saying remove tokens, but make them expire each world; so you can't amass a large hoard of tokens across worlds

rn people hoard tokens over worlds which makes them effectively rich forever++ which makes trading in almost anything except tokens not really worth it

don't think hats are as big of an issue as tokens. sure making a change might annoy a few people but who cares if it's a healthy change overall. give them a sufficient amount of time to redeem them and it's all fine and fair.

gotta be honest im not sure "might reduce user trust" is much of an argument for changes with these particular devs. how long did it take for https?
