Steam uses some kind of CDN thing, it will take time to update for certain regions.

We need to be able to use our haven accounts on the steam version otherwise its a big bust lmao

Some things that must be considered:

    - Many of the controversial points are subject to change
    - Jorb and Loftar do not view the Steam server as the new "main" server
    - W16 is not linked to the Steam release date and will likely occur before then
    - Servers will have the same content

Can you just roll out a W16 for the non-steam version as well? What is stopping you from this?

That would solve all problems and complaints.

Allow players who paid for subs and hats to enjoy the new content with all their paid accounts.

In between 'worlds' here. One way I'd say people paid for everything ingame so it doens't make sense to not transfer that to Steam somehow. Otherway I can understand that you will want to get rid of 1000's sub tokens littering around to screw the world on day one putting all RTM power in the same old hands. If you want a fresh start, that will pretty much ruin that already.

Least you could do is transfer verification + hats for the people who've been supporting your game for the past +-15 years though. Otherwise you will piss off a big chunk of your loyal playerbase.

The whole idea seems rushed and ill-considered. There are many, many issues to be addressed, like in-game moderation (e.g. swastikas on sails), botting, rmt, multiboxing etc. I understand the choice to not reset the current world, to lure the playerbase over to the steam servers. But forcing players to abandon their hat collections and re-verify just to take a part in an experiment that will very likely fail? Seriously? At least let us link our accounts to steam.

I'll probably skip it for the time being and just lurk and watch how it unfolds.

The actual best and logical way to do this would be making it so you can connect to the same world via steam as the website, ala RuneScape.
Instead it's getting done in the absolute worst possible way.
