Still think the old slider was also a user-friendly disaster. But at least it was not potentially effected by current zoom factor, view angle and/or used scaling settings.

Not convinced yet, or just to minor, I guess.

maybe don't tell people that you plan on releasing a parallel world "before midsummer". loftar killed the world with a single post:

people take messages like this as a signal to conserve their energy for the next run. people in my village bailed, and 3 other villages dropped out for it. otter, H4D, Citadel
sorry to be negative about this, but these kinds of communication gaffs affect the way that people play in a big way.

thanks for adding slope support to survey tool tho, should be more enjoyable in fresh world when getting things going.
also appreciate fixing the alchemy traits changing all the time.

i hold a secret belief that the parallel world wont actually happen, but you won't get that out of me. im a deeply closeted happening doubter.
another stupid day of my worthless hermit life

That's why Jorb has previously never mentioned release time tables until usually 2 weeks prior to wipe, which unfortunately translated into only a month to build up hype for the steam launch.

Loftar was doubtless being honest about their goals, and probably should have couched his statement with a little bit more uncertainty. But people for the past couple months have been complaining about dead devs, abandonment, and lack of communication.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't? I think on balance I'm happier they are talking to us about their goals. I understand your point about it sinking this world's population, however.

One can only hope their new parallel world efforts automate the wipe and release process from a task that required substantial manual intervention and effort into one that can happen on schedule, without manual input.

Not sure if this was mentioned before but it seems to be extremely easy to click on the survey point by accident when moving/interacting with objects within the survey area.

The survey points are clickable even when you don't have the default cursor active, so if you're trying to lift anything off the survey area you can very easily click on a point and mess up your configuration.

I'd like to see an option to lock the survey area to current configuration so it can't be modified unless unlocked again.

"...their new parallel world efforts..."

Any word on whether this will follow the rumors of Steam worlds resetting more frequently (6 months or so) and "normal" worlds running longer (perhaps 18-24 months)?

I've often wondered if I want to know when a world will end, with no announcement we just keep playing normally til one day we log in to a character creation screen again.
