I blame J&L lack of transparency.

At this point basically everybody knows the new world won't happen until at least december 2026. You've got plenty of time, and W16 will probably remain until or even after 16.2 happens.

It's over. The first few months are fun. I'm not enjoying the later stages of a wipe. I'd be forever behind the few players that are still playing. I'm not a big PvE enjoyer.

I restarted with a very poorly leveled character and caught up within 3 months. I suppose your argument could hold up, but luckily in Haven&Hearth the progression is not linear. Ultimately it's a game, so it's up to you if you play it in your spare time to enjoy the spare time you have - as you can't tell you enjoy the later stages, here we go.

I was thinking about Rust recently with all those wipes in mind - maybe this game would be better compared to Haven&Hearth when it comes to wipe frequency? I personally hate losing progress, so I really don't enjoy that game.

I want a fresh start. Everyone back to square one. By month three I'm already out. I don't like the idea of being behind. HnH has too much time gated character progression. In something like Rust I can catch up in one session. Losing your progress in that game doesn't matter that much. I can pick up a random gun and be instantly relevant.
HnH at this stage of the wipe is just repetitive grinding until the inevitable reset.
If I knew the world was permanent I would play.

What for? If anything the world needs to be smaller because less players will be on it.

people want a fresh start because dealing with a village with 100 mule alts full of steel coins in purses sucks

True. PvE and PvP players shouldn't have to coexist in the same game. Unfortunately, HnH suffers from an identity crisis and the devs don't know which kind of game they want. :(

If the game needs a goal, how about making it reaching a designated veeery high peak, where there are some dangers (trolls, yetis, big bear or snow leopard, you name it) and at the top of that peak (could be flat and a bit big, call it amphitheater of gods or whatever), you, or rather your village, has to put a specific offering item to "win", or rather leave your name on that worlds history. To make the offering you would need items from the deepest level of mines for example, metiron, something from cachalot, or make a giant squid and you need its beak, and some other hard to obtain things. The offering needs to be of specific quality or above. Would that kind of a goal be interesting for the folks here in this game?
