No.

- Do they stack? (A cave full of study desks would be too OP)

You can only have one. Not sure why more would be OP, though. The mentory can only ever get full. You do not study the things on the desk, but rather they are drawn from the desk to your study report whenever you complete another curiosity.

- Do we have to use a chair, like other tables?

No. You do not have to be by them for them to work.

What about sharing one desk between different chars?

That is not possible, and nor do I think it should be.

So few things about study desks:
1) Only one desk per character will work.
2) Owner binds when you build a desk.
3) If you own more than one desk you can choose which one is active by right clicking nonactive desk and then selecting "Take possesion".
4) If you own more than one desk anyone can bind nonactive desk to himself by right clicking it and then selecting "Take possesion".
5) Anyone can take stuff from binded desk.
6) Only owner can put stuff to binded desk.
7) It's liftable.

Foul smoke and notes don't show up on the table.
Otherwise table looks cool. I kind of wish I could have several bound to my character for more convenience and so I can visually see if my curios on it have ran out.

They dont show up on barterstands either for obvious reasons - they dont have a 3D-model, as they dissipate as soon as they leave the 2D-cozyness of inventories.

It's not bad this colour...if only the wall was white...

:D ... yeah it looked a lot better outside when I first built it.

I've found as great as it is I still prefer to hand select my curio study, but it is still a good addition with regard to the custom clients auto study and it's an attractive bit of furniture, well it is when I get the colours right ... yours is nice algorithm ... :)

Sick joke! I now know what Hillary supporters feel.
Other than the hunger % you can't use elderberries and grapes as filling.
