You are in fact using one, and it not being updated is the cause of the crashes you're seeing. Using the big, red "Play" button at the top of each page gives you the default client.

I have no idea what UI even is/means. I have no idea what a custom client is, or what client I am using, or how to "fix" anything having to do with "clients." I'm basically computer illiterate.
I occasionally have questions, never complaints. I'm too ignorant of the technical processes to complain.
I was just wondering why my game was crashing every time I tried to open a certain cabinet.

I love this game - it helps me relax. I'm old and don't have (much of) a life.

With the most recent update, custom clients crash whenever doing certain actions, such as inspecting animals or opening cauldrons on the amber client.

The only known solution to this current problem is by using the vanilla client provided by the developers.

And, just an FYI: "UI" Stands for "User Interface". It's essentially all the menus and such that you interact with in order to manage inventory or craft items. The devs added a new feature that allows people using the vanilla client to change how large the boxes and words are. You can do this by opening the setting menu and selecting "Video Settings", then moving the slider marked "UI Scale" to the right to make everything bigger. This feature is useful for people using 4k+ monitors that cause everything to appear smaller.

This, also, I mean...

loftar has written an mmorpg server, dito client with back-end support for wrapping several gfx APIs, a full 3d engine, the http demon for the website, and a whole host of very elegant systems large and small to go with it. I mean...

hurrdurr, c0de is spaghetti

... sure, but couldn't it also just be that the problem lies with you?

We'll never know, I guess, but I do want to throw it out there for consideration.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but the /mt/r/ URLs present the images in their raw form. Such as, for instance, the Big Kahuna in the OP. Not sure whether that's what you considered "upscaled".

Hello. I want to remind you that there is still rendering ahead. Who will update clients?
It's time to get used to the default client. It's time to feel all the charm of the harsh world, laid down by the creators. You get used to casual quickly. IMHO.
I don't know how my friend Google translated it.
