Any word on whether this will follow the rumors of Steam worlds resetting more frequently (6 months or so) and "normal" worlds running longer (perhaps 18-24 months)?

I've often wondered if I want to know when a world will end, with no announcement we just keep playing normally til one day we log in to a character creation screen again.

It's not rumors - Jorb and Loftar have been clear about this. Both on the pre-steam wipe dev stream, where Jorb announced 3 month parallel worlds before a brigade convinced him to change it to 6 months, and Loftar has previously talked about the wipe coming this summer, and their plans to do 2 parallel world wipes then evaluate from there.

Jorb also announced monthly developer streams at the start of world 15 (or was it 14?), and more community engagement.

I agree they didn't follow through with their targets in this instant case, although that doesn't make it a "rumor." Just a goal they didn't achieve.
I've heard about these monthly dev streams as a meme but I never saw (or heard, if it was a devstream) the actual announcement. Not saying it was something that was said, though.

"goal they didn't achieve"

Loftar said he already set up everything for parallel worlds to work, at the start of world 16.
Jorb said "after 6 months, we'll run a second parallel world".

They just didn't do it, like other things they said they'd do and didn't, in the past. Stop reading too much into it lol

Do you have that quote from Loftar?
That's information I'm entirely unaware of, and if true, I could see why you would be disenchanted by the current situation.
That's a pretty big deviation from what I've heard, though, so I'm actually going to be surprised if that turns out to be factually what he said.

Will the parallel worlds be reset simultaneously or will there be a "short" world and a "long" world?

I say "rumor" because this has been bandied about since this world started but I've seen no "official" statement of what will transpire. "Wiped out this summer" I take to mean in the next couple of months or so, not in November as I've also heard?

people take messages like this as a signal to conserve their energy for the next run. people in my village bailed, and 3 other villages dropped out for it. otter, H4D, Citadel
sorry to be negative about this, but these kinds of communication gaffs affect the way that people play in a big way.

thanks for adding slope support to survey tool tho, should be more enjoyable in fresh world when getting things going.
also appreciate fixing the alchemy traits changing all the time.

i hold a secret belief that the parallel world wont actually happen, but you won't get that out of me. im a deeply closeted happening doubter.

Only a permanent, as long as possible world can solve this and many other problems. Detailed discussions on this topic can be found in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=79296

He also talked about it during the stream, as he already mentions.

I understand where you're coming from, now.
If it turns out the parallel server is just "a second server" without any bells and whistles associated with that, I'll concede you were absolutely right to be frustrated.

I'm personally hoping it's actually going to have some changes or additions to support a shorter and faster wipe structure.
