These new supports are useful /efficient for making tunnels and that's it. Going from A to B. I believe that the word tunnel is in the update title in case you missed it. They look pretty nice to boot too don't you think? =)

This prop is good if you need to reach a certain point. It's less effective than a stone pillar, but much better than a wooden one:
- for 1 ingot of "junk" metal (10 pieces) and 1 log of wood, you can dig a tunnel 1 square long.

As mentioned above, you can often dig easily without props, and only add them when dust gets in the way.
And yes, as a decoration it looks great.

Of course, if they suddenly decide to extend the tunnel by 1-6 cells, I won’t say “Return it to how it was!”

Mining has gotten harder every world.
I think its fair to just remove nugget requirement for tunnel support just to give the noobs a helping hand
