a stupid point, as cliffs and rivers to traverse do not kill you...or you just cannot traverse a too large body of water w/o a boat... but i can find another route around them...

Are we talking about the same thing? Escaping aggressive animals. Because a mountain is very safe due to high concentration of cliffs and caves.

I am not sure what your complaint is are you just too lazy to click on a cave icon on your minimap?
Too scared to swim across rivers? You don't need to eat any con to get over them. Constitution is one of the easiest stats to get as well. Not to mention all the equipment that gives a swimming boost.
I even forgot to mention hobbit holes and speed boosts.
Do you walk on 2nd speed while a boar beats on you? Buckets are cheap and contain a lot of water for you to run on highest speeds.
