Although this discussion is indeed a bit weird... I am on Enjoyments side here... (if I understtod him correctly)
I.e. with current 45*-lock you can't align top of the grids with north on minimap. I.e. you have to walk in the corner of your scrren to walk upward on minimap, and I believe that is the problem Enjoyment is trying to convey, apart from the suggestion to make map behave like GPS navigator.
