Basically seems as much up in the air as ever. Only the devs know.

This world lasts another couple of months? six months? a year?
Two concurrent identical worlds?
Or a long (over a year) and a short (6 months) world?

Admittedly the minutiae of FEP or combat strategy are lost on me, my stats rarely surpass 450 (best was several worlds ago when everything was around 500; and that was with the help of a friend who reminded me to finish quests, upgrade gear, etc.) Rarely play more than an hour or so a day, never attacked anyone (other than sparring), but the rpg aspects are fun, and have kept me returning since 2011. A world that runs 2-3 years would be fine with me.

If it turns out the parallel server is just "a second server" without any bells and whistles associated with that, I'll concede you were absolutely right to be frustrated.

I'm personally hoping it's actually going to have some changes or additions to support a shorter and faster wipe structure.

They talked about it on stream and loftar's quote literally says "multiple servers". It literally means two (or more) separate servers running separate worlds, like Salem. That's what "parallel" means.

I'm just trying to help you not have any more expectations like I used to have years ago. I gradually gave up having any drop of faith in them and it works. Can't get disappointed when you have zero expectations lol

I've told them multiple times they have a million dollar idea and I want them to succeed. I bought yearly gold subs, I refused to RMT eastern european retards for OG hats that I really wanted, and I reported exploits and gave my sincere ideas and feedback multiple times, even if they hurt my way of playing the game.
But in the end, it's literally on them if they don't want to succeed or keep any promises or try anything or give a fuck about the community or the game.

This isn't the first time I see you snorting that huge "I hope they're cooking something big to support X and Y" copium.
I'm just giving you my advice, that's all.

I'm personally hoping for W16 perma world + more fast paced/PVP orientated expeditions that reward some stuff you can take back to the perma world for the PVE players... Maybe some updates heavily focused on catchup mechanics for the perma world so people can fight after a month or two if they join after 2 years.

basically some combination of ^, but idk if it'd be too much effort for jorbtar to figure out

Gonna be honest (and admittedly this is probably a very personal and bias opinion on my part), I don't think World 16 itself is fit for being the mostly perma world that it was supposed to be. I didn't like World 16, it was unquestionably my least liked world since I started playing in like W6.
I think it's far too small. You login now and run around and it's hard to go a few minimaps without seeing bases everywhere all right next to each other. Maybe some people like that but that saps the joy away from the game for me. Even in heavily populated worlds at their peak I'd want some space to carve out for myself, and we have had that in worlds past.
So, while I am a hugely in favor of the two-server system I would prefer if they made the persistent world not world 16 and instead whatever comes after it (I'm not talking about the upcoming quicker world btw). Though I suppose this doesn't need to be rushed, we can focus on getting the quicker wiping world up and running next and then sometime in the future lay World 16 to rest and have the next world that follows it take up the mantle of being designed for longevity.

Like I said though, maybe I'm wrong but I just can't see myself ever wanting to play W16 over the newer worlds when it is so tiny and cramped. I had a wander around a few weeks ago and there's just bases/ruins of bases eeeeeeeeverywhere. It sucks and is such a turn off.
Please make worlds bigger (and don't do the random spawns again, central spawn with people expanding outwards for some solitary or staying centralized for communion/pvp was king).
I dropped this world quicker than I ever have any other world just because I hated the map so much.

If i recall correctly in salem what the was done for the perma-world is expanding the world around the borders, idk how much sense that makes for 2 years worlds but it certainly makes sense in terms of an actual permanent world. Then again, the expansion there was a lot different than in haven because it was just one huge landmass, in comparison in haven you'd have to add a whole lot of ocean to throw in a continent or two that would become a center for bonking hermits. Also i don't even know if that's something that loftar can reasonably do depending on how they implemented the world generation without a lot of extra coding.

Just take a boat and jump to Vortex - lands outside main continent are insanely big and unpopulated. You can travel irl hours without finding even dead claim.

Surprisingly i agree with Snail's idea of expeditions

Snuggles idea seems really fun and I think it doesn't seem that far fetched to explain in some sort of lore way. Game seems to take place during some bronze-iron-steel age hybrid with heavy references to druidic and Norse folklore, going on some sort of ''expedition'' makes total sense to me as a LARPer and would probably get more people involved in the PvP aspect of the game too, since it's no biggie if you lose, if I am understanding the idea correctly?

"...don't do the random spawns again..."

That has been the norm for ages, though spawns are weighted towards the center. If everyone spawns in a small area those early game PVP folks will have a field day just hanging around waiting to kill new players as they appear. (In the last world I spawned right beside a thingwall, with two dead hearthlings laying in front of me ...I quickly got the hell out of there.)

It feels like they lost interest in HnH years ago and are only doing the bare minimum to keep it alive enough to pay their bills. Unlike the community, they seem happy with the state of their game.
