After much consideration on my part, I have it deemed it necessary that popfor become a mod. Many would conclude that he is the ideal candidate. "popfor is the greatest mod candidate, he is a righteous individial", that is what they say. Everyone is saying it. And I know everyone is saying it, for I am receiving the voices of the people, that is how i know it. And believe me, everyone is saying it right now. We're going to make these these forums great, restore them to their past splendor. I even have many ideas on how we can win over the Swedes https://youtu.be/6-8E4Nirh9s?feature=shared , and finally revitalize these forums, as everyone has been telling me I need to do. I am not here as a representation of myself, I am merely here to soothe the cries of the many many people who have placed their trust in me. I am here to stand up, and provide a beacon of hope into the future. Thank you.

• I can certainly see the downsides for being a mod; this place is kind of a shithole and it’s difficult to moderate at all without kicking the proverbial hornet’s nest. Made worse as /the type of person Haven attracts/ is often very bad at resisting giving their two (million word) cents and not mentally well/socially aware enough to navigate such waters. So tell us, why would you even want that responsibility? I can imagine (based on what I’ve seen play out on countless internet forums) one cynical reason why someone would want to be an Unpaid Internet Janitor, and I’m sure we all can agree it’s difficult to find someone who doesn’t fall down the “Finally I have the power to punish my enemies!” hole especially given the pressures.
• Relatedly, we can’t much take someone at their word (doubly so for some of these Literal Whos) that they’re “totally a responsible and unbiased person I swear” - so it’s better that you ask at least Two known players, who are trustworthy and either not faction affiliated or from separate and non-allied factions, to attest to your level-headedness and resistance to bias.

So far it seems only Oddity, Ardenness, and Pills have had that done for them. I can attest that Oddity and Ardennes are both solo players with no factional ties. Though I’m not confident Ard be a good fit or even want the job for other reasons I won’t get into. His silence reinforces that belief for me. Oddity I think would make a great fit but I also probably know him better than many. Ask the players in the Legacy Haven Discord what they think of his approach.
From what little I’ve seen Pills looks fine too but I retain my cynicism to those leading their own campaign for power.

After the noindyfikator situation I hope the devs stay open to community feedback as whatever new moderator is tested.

Someone's gotta do it. I really don't want J&L to be about here babysitting the forums. And from what we have been seeing the moderation needs to be scaled up. I truly hope that with the advent of the steam release this game will become more and more popular. But it's already got 2 strikes against it. The "difficulty" of the game itself as well as the player base. I would rather J&L dedicate their time to the game.

and here is where I believe you are wrong. This is not politics. I shouldn't be a "nice guy" I'm not here to be your friend, I'm here to enforce the rules. If you disagree with the moderation that i do, there is a forum where you can call to attention my actions and see if J&L agree or disagree. I also think that if you have affiliations they may only get in your way. We don't need an forums "hero" or whatnot to do this job. It just needs to be done.
