Dunno if jorb is still reading this thread, but I just want to dispute something he said at the end of the video in regards to siege balance
I completely disagree that having your base destroyed makes people quit the game. Everytime I have been attacked, my base looted, my town destroyed in haven/salem it has driven me to play the game longer than I otherwise would have.
I think every world I have quit or gone inactive is because the opposite; not enough happening. you said yourself one of the main problems is stuff getting repetitive/tedious, walls being too strong is the main factor there.
If some huge server zerg faction way more powerful than me forces me to abandon my settlement/hermitage it would only prolong the amount of time I played that world, before getting bored and qutting until the next.
Unfortunately i'm too out of touch with the current gameplay to make concise suggestions, but I just think you are wrong and that most people are like me in this regard. you might not enjoy losing your base but it gives you a reason to make a new base, and making new bases is fun! like at world start. staying in same base for months is dulllllllll.
please consider making towns much easier to take vs a superior force. like really, if you know a big faction is nearby its not viable to just make walls and stay inside but only move far away sort of thing.
