At the same time, i can completely understand why the devs would want nothing to do with an official discord server given how toxic the unofficial ones have turned out.

I mean, automods and server settings can manage a lot on their own. Ban certain words and remove the ability to post links/gifs/images. There is likely a spam filter as well for people saying the same shit and slow mode for people spamming.

It sucks a lot of the life out of it but those things can make it pretty hands-off

It isn’t official

Yes, it should be made one soon.
discord is mostly dead

There aren't better alternatives, recently there has been more discussion.
It is moderated to your biased standard and not the community standard.

You're pulling arguments out of your ass. There is no bias in moderation, no complaints about it. Though so far there haven't been any unclear cases, only either obvious trolls or then well behaving respectful people.
There is a dire need for such server, many people sometimes mention that other discord servers for the game are garbage and they don't like the discussion in them.

The best solution is an official server, but there are indeed some questions about are devs able to moderate such fast paced chat while even the forums are a challenge sometimes!

Most people don’t even give real ideas in the C&I and use it for a post count booster anyways. You included.

Again, stop pulling bs out of your arse! All my ideas are honest and of high quality, many of them have even been implemented in a way or another, such as coalers cough and sapling planting preview, to give few examples.

A lot of communities include support discords and forum discord along side their forums. Not sure why hafen has to lack in this regard because it really is falling behind

Because devs fear the moderation/management workload of such server, I think that's the reason. They primarily want to develop a game, not manage some community discord.
It would be ridiculously easy to keep such server toxic-free, you could literally just ban like 10-20 people from current hnh community and game would become 100x better.

Note the PhpBB in the footer…

Nothing wrong with Phpbb, perfectly good forum software. Or should hnh replace forums with some blockchain based webv3 forum to stay relevant?

There's so many things wrong on a psychological level about this that I'm not even going to argue about it. Keep living in your dream world pal.

Alright since you want to nitpick, let us nitpick.

shubla wrote:Yes, it should be made one soon.

No your server will never be official. It is a joke, a meme, literally unbearable. Go ask in the current unofficial one that majority uses. In case you forget, the original server was made because everyone had their own chat rooms and when ever someone else joined there was bias and people were constantly banned and expelled because of someone else disliking them or faction feuds. It is supposed to be a common forum for all to discuss and talk and be inclusive for everyone. However, lately it became so inclusive that people are being somewhat targeted and taken out of the discord by a clique of people who sit on it all day. A lot of newer players just avoid it all together. One of the original goals of the current server was to avoid bias and provide a common ground which at this point I think one standardized to Jorb's and Loftar's is needed since it is one of the main form of communications today.

Do you even read? Like you didn't even properly read what I was saying here. The alternative that has been discussed is discord. I don't even know why you seem to keep insinuating that we are talking about something else here.

Ah such a beautiful statement by Shubla. It is funny, you incriminate yourself with debates. I literally sat in your chat before and watched people get banned because you saw them as trolls in the other chat. People troll in chat rooms, this is a common thing and reason why there are general chats with lightly moderated channels. People don't complain and can't complain because you banned them and sit in your own little bubble. Lets take a well known player like Snail for instance, you would have bias and find a way to ban him. I have no doubt about it.

Literally Jordan Coles has given an example of how to handle this. Just read. I am literally in 20+ support discords and they ALL handle it very well. Even League has a community discord that is extremely well moderated with little intervention from moderation teams. Proper set up as he mentioned plus bots literally handle majority of the gritty work that is on that discord.

Just because you have one good idea that you are actually serious about doesn't mean you are not doing it for post count inflating. Now lets instead of pulling it out my ass as you say, lets look at your own post history. And thankfully you do it so much it is easy to find.

Do you not go outside of your own community discord or something? Literally Jordan Coles explained a way to set it up and on top of that it should be maintained by Mods not devs hence the discussion?

You have to be joking here. Literally there are serious security issues with the current system and it is dated: Powered by phpBB © 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007 phpBB Group

Not even talking about going to a fancy website but this forum has been the same since I first found Haven and Hearth and has serious security flaws which have already been found before. It needs work or something.

Oh? Care to point them out? Or are you just saying things?

There's plenty. I don't know how to check which version you run, but feel free to browse.

I work in medical. I am not just saying things unfortunately. Wish I was. One of the main reasons why I even use a different password for this forum and game than anywhere else because of my concerns of security issues. I'm used to security audits and if I ever brought up phpBB to a security audit they would laugh at me think it is a joke. Kudos to Razfen for fast sniping with the site though. Also can think of a few instances such as the time someone brute forced the logins to gain access to login credentials of users... Mistakes are often made, we are just human. I think you guys do your best to make things as secure as possible but I have doubts in how exactly secure everything is and would be more satisfied to see a proper security audit result if you guys have one because I am sure they will point out a few (hopefully only a few).

Point originally was also not about security, it was more of the fact that the forum is becoming dated (which often has security flaws).
