It's kinda crazy how the most """toxic""" and unlikable people here always end up being non-PVPers

I think that's largely why PVE wouldn't work for haven. Not so much dedicated griefers trying to grief everybody, more jubjub being your neighbor and the most autistic LARP fight happening as a result of a minor disagreement

He's gonna moderate it like a Minecraft server

Did you know that placing brown bricks, is the best thing, and the most amount of fun, you could possibly have.

And I assume you’ve read “Developer Thoughts on PVP”… right???

The definition of griefing is nebulous and conflict between players is not the same as griefing. However, a lot of things are solved by curating the playerbase. The whole point of a private server, is the private part. I don't need to solve griefing in the same way Jorbtar does, because my playerbase is "people who enjoy hanging out with each other and/or share similar interests" not random misanthropes on the internet. While there's quite a bit that would be adjusted to make PvP more manageable and to enable some community GMs to run events. The core of the issue (as to why it can't retain new players) for HnH has never been mechanical. The core of the issue has always been: you. The HnH playerbase. Ya'll the reason why this game sucks. The solution to "griefing" in HnH is to simply remove most of you.

Honestly, this would be more of an own if the average Minecraft server didn't have a better population than this game.

Like 10-15 people with the loudest voices intentionally sabotage a game gradually lowering its player count to the point of death. They’re trying to PVE Haven itself but cry when we ask for our own PVE experience.

The game is objectively the least PVP focused it has ever been as a direct result of people consistently pushing for it to be more tedious and less dangerous.

I rly don't see how you can possibly blame "loud PVPers influencing development" for anythign negative you perceive. INSANE mental gymnastics

Imho, adding QoL to PvP would unironically benefit people who fundamentally do not want to PvP. Let me explain.

Under current "ecosystem" the ends result tends to be that there's a small handful of autists who tolerate the hurdles PvP system throws at them, and effectively gain a monopoly on violence. They get to do whatever they want.

If those hurdles were lessened to a reasonable degree, more factions would form and persist. PvP players now have more of each other to fight. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but some PvE larper could be saved by a faction just because they want to be the "good guys" in the next big Moot thread.

In a very idealistic scenario, even some casuals could engage with PvP, perhaps forming a small militia that can provide at least some deterrance.

im not trying to "own" you , but this is a truly Farquadian statement

also just add combat bots to Valhalla that chase and drink and combo moves etc, make PvP less esoteric so people arent like a fish out of water when they get aggro'd (including me)
