Under current "ecosystem" the ends result tends to be that there's a small handful of autists who tolerate the hurdles PvP system throws at them, and effectively gain a monopoly on violence. They get to do whatever they want.

If those hurdles were lessened to a reasonable degree, more factions would form and persist. PvP players now have more of each other to fight. Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but some PvE larper could be saved by a faction just because they want to be the "good guys" in the next big Moot thread.

In a very idealistic scenario, even some casuals could engage with PvP, perhaps forming a small militia that can provide at least some deterrance.


I play MOBAs (well only heroes of the storm anymore) all the time and they have very little to no PVE, but they also don't have 1 hour long boring ass fucking chases. I agree with this. If haven had interesting PVP maybe I'd give a shit to actually learn and try.

Bro figured out the solution to all conflict ingame: simply remove all the ontologically evil PVP Orcs.

I don't think J&L view their game as a hardcore PvP game.
The way some of you are playing isn’t how they meant it to be played but they’re too Swedish to do anything about it. I love and hate them for that. :D

Also, plugging in this idea of making Rage much cheaper, but keeping Theft and Vandalism as they are (or even making them MORE expensive.)

TLDR: Getting Ko'd sucks. But getting full-looted? (Often the attacker just grabs everything you have on you, including the Study Screen, and throws it on the ground.) That sucks even more.

Nah I think you fundamentally misunderstand (unironically, and no offense).

Jord and Fatlor are Internet Wild West trolls (or at least wannabe trolls); they absolutely adore the fact that their game is a cesspool of “kindred spirits”. The subtext of “Dev Thots on PvP” is that the game is in this state because they want things this way, intentionally or no.

holy shit, after these 84 pages im totally fine with keeping this a tryhard-niche game, but for this one last world I hop in make it so that I can let my lazy, pacifist hermit ass auto hearth home instantly without delay

also make subs more expensive - is there no inflation in sweden?

Sure. Maybe. But it's not my job to rehabilitate you people. Like ya'll as a community suck so much that the devs go radio silent for half a year just so they don't have to interact with any of you. Nearly every negative on Steam is "cool game, but community sux." Every person I've invited to play this game has some impression of "this is the most toxic shithole I've ever seen". I'm not sure why you're surprised where the obvious solution is just: don't play with the people you don't like and very few of you are very remotely likeable.

That being said I do agree that having combat bots whose behavior you could customize would be a very good addition. Likewise I agree that adding QoL to PvP and making it more accessible would make it a less miserable experience for more casual players. However, these are ultimately all band-aids on the core issue of a community whose here to have fun at the expense of others rather than with others.
