In soviet russia, you kill bear. In haven, bear kill you!

This seems somehow backwards from normal. XD

I can almost feel the synergy between your cynism and apathy

Bears should be killing you, and only for want of better AI do they not.

Should they really be killing me though? I mean, that's a large price to pay for want of some sausage. I killed a lot by spamming arrows in their face, which does actually seem realistic.

I think jorb wants it so that not every NPC in the game is viewed as harmless bits of meat and bone walking around. Either he wants it so there's always some risk involved in hunting them, or extreme caution/preparation in order to succeed in said hunt.

I'm inclined to agree with him. That being said the effects on progression (which seemed to flow quite nicely in legacy) need to be taken into account when making some things that were easy to get in old early game into scarce commodities.

Well, real talk, aren't the animals deliberately made not to kill you, but rather just knock you out? I feel that getting knocked out and being wounded is a fair price to pay for failing a fight with an animal. Death would be a little extreme.

I'm pretty sure Jorbtar has a newbie "death by bear"-counter somewhere in their code.

Raise UA. It's the approved way to fight.

Don't forget the "welcome to haven" death-by-swimming counter which is almost higher than jorbtar paypal account balance ¦]
