Hmmm, going back to something that didn't work previously seems an odd move though I'm not going to pretend it won't make life easier, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it though tbh.

Like Ven I do think it's a shame that players won't have to work to traverse the map anymore, I'm aware of all the complaints about the world being too big and not worth travelling for trade or raiding or socializing and I agree that 'roads' didn't work out as you planned but I just feel that returning to an 'access all areas' world isn't the way to go either and also it does take away that element now of feeling safer further out and being able to take your time and enjoy the other aspects of the game. It's now back to get a b/wall up asap, which, Jorb, as a hermit with a rl takes a great deal of time and effort and is not possible here like it was in legacy. I've more or less even given up trying in my hermit base, it's just not worth the effort and I'm not as invested in this world as I have been in the past.

Anyway, I don't know what the answer to it all is but I do hope you continue trying to come up with something other than teleporting across the world ..... meanwhile, yeah alts ...

Charterstones were cancer previously, but it was mainly because of how exploitable they were
They worked like a village claim in that you could block the area around it and then end up over walls

Seems that's been fixed so I don't see much problem with it atm, much better than running and roads at least

Now we just need to them to give barterstands some more love

Life's good again. Thanks.

Sober Pedorlee reporting in!

As an active recrouter I must say this is delicious!
Even if herrings are not implemented yet, ejem, this eases sumoning my friends to start playing with me. I convinced a friend to start playing with us(blachill) and he did walked for hours with 2 chars. His last char came yesterday evening, and some hours later this was implemented.
I'm very happy because this will allow me to invite and promote H&H with less hours of explanations while they walk towards us.
Probably its not the best system, as some has stated, but at least makes more sense than walking for hours without any joy.

Congratz devs!

Well, that's something useful.
Albeit, i kinda hoped we could get some recipe for the new meats and vegetables. If you lack puns, i can just give some.
Messy Mossy Moose, a dish made with glimmermosses, mushrooms and moose meat.
Squirrel Soup, delicious Squirrel meat along with nuts and vegetables (just to retain the squirrel theme).
Lettuce Lynx, a dish made of lynx meat along with heads of lettuce.
Feline Frisket*, dunno about the ingredients other than the lynx meat, but it sounds good.

Give cooks some love for the new year. Thanks.

(note: the dishes i've proposed aren't necessarily actually edible or good; but well, it's a game...)

* ok, technically speaking that's a beef cut; but it sounds nice.
