To be fair, there's nothing inherently offensive about being proud of your heritage.

In the context of the game, white pride could also be interpreted to mean pride about having beautiful white cows, horses and pavement.

The unfortunate reality of this situation can be viewed in the first page of the thread where there is an entire Wikipedia entry on the term alone. While it could be used in such innocence, much like some religious symbol that has been hijacked from its original purpose by a group associated with the very term you are trying to defend there, it now stands for something that has a negative connotation.

I really don't believe Jorb and Loftar changed the realm name because they were upset, I think it was supposed to be a tongue in cheek jab back at PP, the intention being for everyone to have a laugh over it ...

Unfortunately it back-fired because of the existence of the White Pride realm, which players genuinely found offensive, and Jorbs response to that just gave a bad impression and worsened the situation.

So why not hijack it back?

We're currently in a situation where society always deems it okay to say you're proud of your heritage.. unless you're white. That's racial inequality and it's probably driving people towards white supremacist movements more than it's helping.



That being said yeah, the realm name was obviously an edgy meme. The guy who finished the coronation stone didn't ask anyone their opinion before naming it.

Is this for edge of the claim or for the actual claim marker?

I've had a few folks move in nearby and claim half a river for future dock use but nothing we can't navigate around for now, but I imagine if they stretch out more it'll be time to pay them a visit.
