It looked so pretty that I left it there for a few seconds longer, and it disappeared. Oops. Haruspex has about thirty second lifetime before decay. Learning experience, no problem.

Today, leveling by my back gate maybe fifty tiles away, what pops into my inventory, but the haruspex! :D

Is the 30s lifetime intentional, or just an oversight in the decay timer?
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I’ve noticed that some things stick around a while and other things, like entrails, do not. Given what the Haruspex is made of I’m not surprised if it inherits a short decay time.

Is decay still random and wave based, or has that changed since legacy?

Depends on the type of decay: for dropped items it's a per-item timer (if they have a timer, else it's map unload) - but for the world (map, objects) it's still random.

More mushroom versions for deeper cave levels would be nice.
Larger singular mushrooms that are blue could be one example, like a cave bolete.

Maybe some of them could even glow one day
