Wait, so those that went out and foraged mussels right after the patch got 4-5 pearls, but if you go out now you still get 0 no matter how many mussels you foraged? Every trip I should have known I was wasting time?

How many mussels have you boiled? Seems to finally be working as intended for us :?

It's almost like global pools were a bad idea from the start, as the entire playerbase said.

We're now back to "baseline". The amount of pearls being boiled in your area by other players determines your chance of getting one. If you're living beside a pearl botter, you're probably getting nada. If you're taking a boat trip to an uninhabited island somewhere and boiling pearls there, you'll have much better chance at getting them.

With thingwalls, going to another continent for glimmy foraging is something I've done successfully.

Dustpiles never did respawn, they are only placed in the new world and never regenerated.

why is this the intended case?
if someone joins in the middle of the world, why should they be excluded from dust gems and other goodies because they didnt play the game at the right time?

Because if they respawned you could farm infinite jotun gems?
Waiting for something to happen? Everything is going to be okay.

Then maybe they shouldn’t have added a gem that spawns on the ground in a pile of dust and can give you huge boosts to perception and masonry in the first place.

Oh, so basically you're fine with keeping that advantage if you got it yourself but it's "too strong" to have them respawn for other players later in the world. Got it.
