Do these dungeons spawn during specific seasons?
Do they spawn in specific biomes?
Do they spawn on tile load like beaver/bat dungs, or do I need to do some specific action like ant/bee dungs?
Is there a global pool for how many can be spawned at a time like with the other dungeon types?

Are these dungeons easier than ant ones seeing as they are smaller?

Based on Loftar's earlier reply, they are effectively just a temporary Burrow where couple of regular foxes live.
The most actively maintained Haven and Hearth Wiki (Not guaranteed to be up-to-date with all w14 changes.)

Basic Claim Safety (And what you’re doing wrong) (I recommend you read it in it's entirety, but TL:;DR: Build a Palisade.)

Combat Guide (Overview, PVE, PVP) (Includes how to escape/minimize risk of getting killed.)

They're a bit more than that, but yes, significantly easier than anthills.

this tbh, but without the fox dungeon part - just make siege 24h again
