chest on edge of land

I was (accidentally, honest able to look in a chest on the edge of someone's land without trespassing skill, but was penalized karma for doing so. I'm assuming this is a bug and it shouldn't be possible to look in the chest - it didn't work with another container, an urn, though it might have also been because it was on the down-left edge while the chest was on the up-left edge.

What does karma actually do, and how do I go about restoring mine?

That might, indeed, be considered a bug. On the other hand, I'm not sure; if one places things on the edge of one's land, it's not unreasonable that it's possible to use them without trespassing, I think. On the other hand, one probably shouldn't be penalized then.

Regarding karma, it doesn't actually do anything at all right now, and there's no way of restoring it. :) We actually plan to rework that system and replacing it with something based on personal beliefs.
