Coal in crucible gets shifted to the left, iron doesn't

As the title says, if the bar of steel in the left slots of a crucible finishes first while there is bar of wrought iron and piece of coal in the right still, the remaining coal gets shifted to the left, but the remaining bar of wrought iron does NOT. This looks rather... odd.
