Long loading times

Whenever I start the game, I have to wait a minute or two for it to go from the login screen to the character select screen. From when I click log in at ___ to when I can play I must wait at least another four. Anybody else have this problem? Is it client sided, server sided, or is my 20kb/s internet the problem?

Are you using Pacho's or theTrav's client? In that case, your 20 kb/s Internet could be the problem, since the client cannot cache non-local resource when it is not run with JNLP and thus has to re-download them from the server each time.

I suggest loading it with the original client, then switching to a different one.

t seemed to work for me.
