I don't see why you wouldn't actually find a mine in a forest (metal is underground and found in places other than mountains). Not certain the devs ever said that wasn't the case...

Indeed. If that is what you considered a bug, then I can relieve you by revealing that it is intended behavior. They're just more rare in forests.

I would think the fern floating in the darkness would be more of a bug than finding a mine in a forest =P
