No matter what angle I try from when I try and make a gate on my palisade (a cornerpost on each side of where it should be- a 2 spot gap) and it tells me I can not place it there. But it gives me the option to. D:
No I did not place the stuff using the free placement mode.

Try paving all the adjacent areas.
