Candalabrums not working right?

Postby Blaze » Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:13 pm

Didn't they say that candalabrums are supposed to work for 1 in-game week? Mine hasn't been burning for an in-game day and it's already gone out.
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Cause the server crashed an hour ago.
The world I love The tears I drop To be part of The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
The world I love The trains I hop To be part of The wave can't stop
Come and tell me when it's time to

They go out early even without crashes. When there's nobody in the area for a certain amount of time the area gets unloaded from server memory resulting in burnt out candles.

Oh, yes, right. I understand this bug now. I'll get around to fix it.

Is that how the twenty-minute animal despawn works then?

Nope, they are implemented with a completely different (though not entirely different in spirit) and more predictable mechanism.
